We always talk about "spiritual evolution" and transmutation. But are we as human beings actually evolving? Is there any way to prove this?
A phenomenon in psychology know as the "Flynn Effect". It is an effect where, the global population is having a 3 point per decade increase, in IQ scores.
This means that the tests and examinations in schools have to continuously be made more difficult in order to keep the average score at 100.
This effect has been empirically studied in over 20 different countries over the course of 100 years.
The most important point is that Flynn discovered that:
"the increase is most striking for tests measuring the ability to recognize abstract, non-verbal patterns".
This means, it cannot be explained by people reading more. Or using the internet to gain more knowledge.
Non-verbal patterns have to do with symbolism, intuition, and creativity.
This effect remains unexplained, and is one piece of evidence to prove our consciousness may be evolving.
In terms of the actual DNA evolution, there is also a great deal of evidence to demonstrate this is happening.
John Hawks, Anthropology professor at the University of Wisconsin, found that:
Human evolution has occurred 100 times faster in the last 5000 years then any other period in history.
This rapid evolution has led to our DNA changing by fully 7%. One of his most shocking finds, was that:
"we are more different genetically from people living 5,000 years ago than they were different from Neanderthals."
A separate study also showed the same thing. "We used a new genomic technology to show that humans are evolving rapidly, and that the pace of change has accelerated a lot in the last 40,000 years, especially since the end of the Ice Age roughly 10,000 years ago," says research team leader Mr Henry Harpending, a distinguished professor of anthropology at the University of Utah.
